David Incorvaia was told once by a friend that he is not at all like water: He doesn't take the most obvious path.

David is an American commercial director, currently living in Berlin. Commercial, Film and Music Video Director, Advertising Creative and copywriter. American director, born in Cleveland Ohio in 1974.

Initially accepting a prestigious painting scholarship at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design), David studied filmmaking and directing graduating in 1996. He studied additionally at Brown University and St. Martin's College, in London. After which David storyboarded and creatively assisted the creation of a dozen NY and Hollywood feature length films and commercial spots in the U.S. He also worked as set designer on several features.

He began directing professionally on Sim Sala Grimm, where as one of four directors on a 300-person German-British-Chinese team , he helped bring vision to the 26 part, half hour animation episodes, seen in 200 countries. The budget was 15 million dollars.

David began directing commercials and music videos in 2001. He's directed over forty music clips and dozens of commercial spots for clients worldwide, and in local markets from LA to KL. Clients include Mc Donalds, Hugo Boss, BNP Paribas, Ferrero, & the Red Cross. On many spots, photo campaigns and new media campaigns, he's also acted as copywriter, creative director and character-designer for clients such as Boss, Unusuauls.net, Sunrice, Brill, Xnip.com and Yahoo.com!

David conceived of the first ever marathon film festival exclusively for professional filmmakers, The Berlin 36 Hour International Film Festival. Two-thousand filmmakers spontaneously pump out a hundred short films in under thirty-six hours, annually. He co-chaired the festival organization in cities across Europe and its annual 200 thousand Euro budget from, 2003-2005.

In addition to directing, David has written and directed several short films and will soon prepare for his feature film debut. And one day, should he ever press “pause” on filmmaking, he'd like to travel around the world for a year eating different foods with his family. Perhaps he'll take a camera with him.
