This was a good and challenging script, with a worthy cause, knowing that, just in the last two months, 20 foreigners have been murder in Moscow alone, for xenophobic reasons. It is a growing menace all over Europe but much more strongly in the Eastern countries. Ukrainians like all of us must face a growing danger and this spot is part of a campaign by IOM Organization, to familiarize the general public with racism ( see inclosed articles in http://www.un.org/radio/7126.asp ) . Basia and I are proud to have worked with a group of people who were very passionate and willing to go very far to make this unusual film. This spot was produced by LIMELITE STUDIO in Kiev, by Victor Maslaev and Vladimir Yatsenko. From Leo Burnet we had, Irina Pigal, Andrew Andrew Ushakov and Jaroslaw. Wiewiorski. The Norwegian DP, John Christian Rosenlund shot it and it was Mental dRive Studio who was in charge of all special effects.
Some films go really smoothly and it was the case for the two Teisseire films. I do not know luck was on our side or more simply (so to speak!) a nice and good casting, setting, light, etc...
But above all there was the pleasure, certainly due to all the rest, to search for nice angles, frames, lenses, to direct the comedy and that make each film a real moment of happiness for a director. Now you can judge the result....

I have a great souvenir of this shoot in South Africa. Every thing went so smoothly, without any pressure, with optimistic actors, very motivated and so positive even when the language barrier didn't make things obvious.. They both came from the Czech Republic and didn't speak any English. I wish to thank personnally our charming producer from Forward International who managed perfectly the shoot.
Production : Forward International, DOP : Vincent Warin
I loved the psychological spirit that the actor installed in this film. This uncontrolable feeling of insatisfaction that he expresses subtly without ever deviating from his obsession : I want to reduce my invoice!!!
During the repetitions he was capable of showing me a very large panel of what a scrooge could feel faced by an invoice, with plenty of naturality and talent to such an extent that never want to imagine myself one second to be like that...
And what if I were a scrooge?

Shooting in Bucharest revealed to be a great experience. We manage to create a musical spot that broke with the conventional recipe. We wanted to make something different. The agency went along with the idea of creating some sort of “event” happening in the city. We shot almost everything on handheld camera, as if all the scenes were caught on a family video camera. By breaking the classic format we manage to give the spot a sense of authenticity and realness.

We had a very funny shoot in Lisbon, with a cast of good French comedians who permitted us to strecht the comedy very far. It was a daring spot to make, due to the sexual nature of the spot.

Former Tennis Champion Yannick Noah, long-time emblem of French sportswear brand Le Coq Sportif, finds himself potentially replaced by hot-shot Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb. Not one to be "dethroned", Noah endeavors to keep his crown: a "duel" is launched between the two: first in the form of a media war, and then in the stadium, where the two athletes affront one another in disciplines neither one has trained for - or for that matter actually plays! Our experience creating trailers for French TV made us the ideal directors for this "action-movie teaser" spoof. AGENCY: La Chose. PROD: Les Telecreateurs.
It's always a pleasure and a great experience to shoot in Moscow for Samsung... Mainly because behind each Samsung Script, there's always a simple, efficient and creative concept... A simple poetic concept for Jotun Paints which seemed to grow organically like a plant, thanks to the openness of the creative team at Grey Worldwide, Dubai and of the friendly support of Paula and Rafic Tamba of VIP Film.
Imagine the surprise of two Mongols arriving on the cinema set where everything is fake... Fake icebergs made of polysterene and moved with nylon strings, the artic sea was a 6m x 8m bassin, with prop men making waves with
wooden planks, and them sitting on a piece of polysterene fixed in the middle of the bassin in front off 45 people occupied at preparing the shoot...
And the "iceing on the cake" is that they spoke no other language than Mongolian!!! So we used an interpreter who was incredible shy... So you can imagine the communication between ourselves...
A Czech brand shot in Poland with Mogolian actors and a french director... Lot's of fun I!! must say!!!

This campaign for Kiri was total happiness. First, I love shooting exteriors, especially in South Africa in the marvelous locations they have, but also because it was a real creative work to do in frame because the films were very simple. The only constraint was to see the product as naturally as possible.
The agency and the Bel client had understood that to have emotion and "make it true" you need simple subjects and time to tell
the story...
For info these films were shoot with 2 HD cameras with 35mm lenses.

Such a great pleasure to work in Italy! Life is so rich to observe! And a piece of advice... Never buy an old Solex to go to your appointments, it is best to put it as a antique in your living room! The Italian producer must have lost 3 kilos trying to get it started and each time he managed and handed it over to the actress... It stopped!
Many thanks to Silke Schmidt and Maike, to Jean Jacques Santarelli and Laurent Cotti, to Michelle Colombo and Chrystelle Robin, and of course to my faithful DoP Dominiqe Lerigoleur.
It is always a pleasure to shoot with young kids, especially when the pleasure of shooting on the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic and the reconsititution of an end of year school show is added. As often with young kids I used two cameras so as to be sure to catch those "magic moments" and also so I wouldn't need to get them too tired. The agency was Leo Burnett Warsaw, the production Lemon Film.
This was a good moment even if France lost the World Football Cup while I was there...!!!
BBDO, Moscow enlisted Alain Gourrier for this dynamic Pepsi Light spot likening great taste without unwanted calories with life without problems. "Life without problems" extended to the production thanks to a pleasant collaboration between Gourrier, who loves to work in Moscow, and the creative team at BBDO, under the watchful eye of a very involved and bright Pepsi client.
The two films for the International Corona campaign (the “Mumies” is coming shortly...) were shot in Malta for the “Pirates” and in Morrocco for the “Mumies”. In each film almost everything was done directly on camera! Very little post-production was used!
Production was Mia Films in Mexico, producer was Flore Vega, DoP was our usual Michel Abramowicz....
I was delighted to do this job with Telemaz Berlin. Barbara, Frank and their team are professional and direct. I enjoy simple relationship and their good humour. The fact that I didn't know Berlin and that I found the city fascinating made me even happier. I must come back!
I was touched by the confidence and the enthousiasm that the agency creatives and the client showed touched me as well. I promise next time I will put no orange in the set!!!
And the waiter at the hotel who cleans the gigantic aquarium makes us wonder if we weren't smoking the carpet...
In brief a great souvenir.
In August we shot in Warsaw four great spots for "Zelmer" , the AEG of the east. It was the 1st time this client was advertising on air. The agency Warsaw RED 8, one of the top creative agencies of Poland, came up with a highly original and daring concept. The idea was to create a test hall where the products where being tested for their robustness and long lasting life. It was meant to be done with a daring humor and a minimalist approach. Basia and I felt, the spots needed a very precise design and light. The spots were shot by Production Company : Dynamo films
The DOP was Sebastian Milaszewicz.
For agency Red 8 Warsaw.
Moodz or the launch of a new tea based drink in the Middle East! Directed by two young director-graphists, Franck Balsan and Bertrand Todesco, the images of Moodz use the latest developments of 3D animation with a 2D rendering. The whole film having a charm and an efficiency through very original images!
This musical spot was a real challenge. DDB Blue Zone wanted us to recreate a Bollywood world with its typical mood and style, while still retaining a Maroccan identity. It was shot in a beautiful palace in Rabat and in the old Medina in Casablanca. We had two days or rehearsals for the dancers and two days of shoot to accomplish this feat.
Agency: DDB Blue Zone Casablanca
Prod: Irene
DOP: Sebastian Milaszewicz.
Chroreographer: Kris Adamsky
Here is another good example of globalisation. French Director Claude Genton just directed this Head & Shoulders (American client) commercial produced by Action Film for Saatchi Moscow. The film was shot in Barcelona through La Cosa de las Pelliculas. The model was Bielorussian, the DOP English, the hair dresser Italian... The telecinema was done in London and the post in Budapest...
Working internationally for many years Claude enjoys these kind of challenges. Getting the best out of each in such a short period of time with people you have most often never met before...
Many thanks to the two creatives, Olga Rozanova and Marat Novikov, specialist of 3D sunflowers !
Shooting this Kiri commercial was quite a moment! The kids were all 5 years old : "Stay still... don't move... no! not you!.... YOU!... please don't touch the sound boom... all right everybody in place... When do we stop...??? After when the take is good... and now was it good?... No! not yet! Once lore... Oh NO not again!... Yes... again! I almost found my kids were angels when it was all over! Client : Kiri, Agency : Saatchi Paris, AD Delphine Bojago, CR : Arnaud Vanhelle, Production : Franco, DOP Stephane Le Parc.
Creating a original musical spot is always very demanding. But we felt we had wonderful trust from the agency, giving us freedom to play and add more.
The trick here was to show undies, socks, and bras in a fun and crazy way, while still retaining the taste and quality that Pompea needed. The best part was to be able to work with fantastic people, who were able to deliver great work and performance in two very intense days in Buenos Aires.
Client : Pompea, Agency : Selection Milan, Production : Alto Verbano Milan, Service company : Mla Films Argentina, DOP : Sebastian Milaszewicz, Choreographer : Kris Adamsky/Parramore
The challenge of these two Air Canada films was to shoot 140 shots in a great amount of different locations in only 5 days. Frederic and his DOP,
Vincent did a lot of running around Buenos Aires and shot the two commercials all hand-held!
A good week's worth of physical exercice! Frederic was delighted !!!
Director : Frederic Potier, DOP : Vincent Warin Client : Air Canada, Agency : Marketel, production : Trafic
For this new Pellini commercial, directed by Frédéric Potier for Diaviva Productions and Com-Group Milano, the difficulty was to create a camera system giving the impression the girl floats in the air in a sensual manner with long camera moves.
After finishing the three Roger Cavailles commercials which we hope to show you soon on this page, Didier is now of to sunny Greece to shoot a Norzene commercial for Kino Productions.
Alain Gourrier has just finished a worldwide commercial for TBWA/Chiat Day Los Angeles, for the new Sony PSP, with quite imaginative special effects...
